William Keitel and Josephine Spires

 


William Keitel was born in 1900 in Seward, NE to William Keitel and Mary Brinkmeier. Around 1910 his family moved to Armstrong, TX until around 1924 where he marries Josephine Spires in Wichita, KS. Josephine and William ended up getting a divorce and he ended up marrying a Stella Edwards they lived together until his death 3/3/1973 in Hutchinson, KS.

Josephine Spires was born in 1902 in Alva, OK to Charles Spires and Ella Corcoran. Around 1910's the family moves to Wichita where she married William Keitel on 9/23/1924 in Wichita, KS. She later divorced William Keitel and married an Antone Davis and lived with him in Wichita,KS area until his and her death. She died in 2007 at 105 years old in Wichita, KS.

William and Josephine had the following children from their marriage Ellen (1925) and Joe (1927) Keitel. She later married Antone Davis and had the following children Jerry Ann, Mary Elizabeth, Rita, and Antone Jr.

Galen Kind

  Galen Kind was born on 10/19/1916 in Minot, ND to Hazel Spires Kind and Elmer Kind. He Married Gale Bambic and had no children, but he was a parent to so many cousins. I know my Uncle Charles lived with him for a little while along with Shari Spires sister of Deborah Fischer. He was a very popular cousin, most of the distant relatives have heard of Galen or have visited him. When we stayed over in Wichita to visit family we would often stay at their house and visit. Galen died on 8/17/1997 in Wichita, KS.

Elmer and Zenith Spires

  Elmer Spires was the son of John and Rebecca Spires born on 3/1/1840 in we believe Georgetown, OH. He lived in Georgetown area until around 1870, where he moved his family from Ohio to Labette, KS. Around the last part of the decade he disappeared leaving his family in Labette, there has been records of Elmer Spires in Neosho, MO which could be him because rail lines from Eastern Kansas ran through that area. There was also records of around 1910 of an Elmer Spires living around OKC area. The only other records is a patent out of Coffeyville, KS around the Labette area of a patent for a wagon brake issues by a Elmer Spires. No one has been able to track any other information on Elmer Spires. Zenith Norris was the daughter of Guy and Agnes Norris born on 5/15/1841 in Bracken County, KY. She lived in KY until around 1860's where she was in Brown County, OH and married Elmer Spires. After Elmer left and never returned, most of the family moved to Minot, North Dakota, were she lived

Connection to George Washington

 This was information posted by Chasity Faith Scott and confirmed through research in Georgetown, OH, and also by research from Louis Spires.  Not sure how accurate this information is but thought it was interesting. Found through ancestry.com Richard Spires Sr. was born native of Maryland in 1754, English descent.He married Rebecca Gentle in Feb. 1787. They came to Ohio in 1812. He soldiered under General George Washington for 3 years. He was a private in the Maryland Continental. He enlisted July 10, 1781, in Maryland and served 3 years. During which time he was severely wounded. Soldier died March 3, 1838, in Brown County, Ohio His marker inscription reads: "Richard Spires, Md. Line, Revolutionary War". Pension application May 1, 1818, and Apr. 5, 1821; both in Brown County, Ohio. Widow applied in Brown County, Ohio in October, 1840. Richard Spires Sr. is buried in the Young Cemetery, Sec. 6, lot 4, grave 1, with a Gov. marker, 1/2 mile south of New Hope, Ohio, in Scott T
