Hazel Spires was the youngest child of Elmer and Zenith Norris, she was born in Parsons, KS on 2/1884. When Hazel was around 5 or 6 her family moved to Minot, North Dakota along with all her other brothers and sisters except for Charles Spires. Charles went to Illinois, and then ended back up in Western Oklahoma with his family. Sometime before 1915 she married Elmer Kind and had three children, Louis (1915), Galen(1916), and Glen(1918). Below is a discussion I had with LaJuana Johnson Lech about Galen brothers and mother.
Aunt Hazel and Uncle Elmer lived near us in ND. We spent many Sundays at their home.

We know a lot about Galen because he lived near us and we saw and visited him. We know very little about the other two kids they had. Maybe you could fill in some gaps
Galen was gone from home by the time I was born (he is my mother's first cousin) but he and Gale visited us many times and I drove my mother to Wichita in 1997 although we did not make it in time for the funeral.
Hazel Spires Kind and Elmer Kind had two sons Louis E (born in 1915) and Galen (born in 1916). Louis died by suicide as a young man in his 20's - it is my understanding it was because of a broken romance (I am pulling this information from what I can remember from conversations with my mother). I believe I have photos of him - a very handsome young man.

There was also a Glen Kind that was in the 1920 Census, He did not appear in the 1930 Census so i am guessing he died at a young age. he was 2 in the 1920 census

Thanks - I never noticed that before - he must have passed as a young child because I never heard mention of him. Oh how I wish I could ask my mother more questions now
